Implementing Professional Learning


The Valhalla Union Free School District provides focused, relevant, collaborative, and differentiated professional learning opportunities to support ongoing growth of all staff and increased student achievement.  All faculty and staff have a My Learning Plan account that can be used to plan and manage their professional learning.

My Learning Plan :    My Learning Plan (MLP) is the web-based,  data management tool used to plan and manage professional learning.  My Learning Plan enables faculty and staff to easily plan, manage, evaluate, and report on all forms of professional learning.  Users use their private username and password to select in-service activities, set-up and view individual plans/portfolios, and receive information regarding district approval for professional development.

  • All employees have access to an individual PD Activity Log which can be used to track additional professional learning throughout the year.  (For example:  Teacher’s College on-site sessions, faculty and department meetings, Tri-State training and site visits, Teq online training, etc)

  •  All teachers can submit their PD Activity Logs for approval and their total professional development hours are added together for the school year.  Total professional development hours are found on My Portfolio.
